Ghost Games will be delivering a full reboot of the well known franchise this year after what can only be explained as a couple of wrong turns for the series. The first reveal teaser trailer showcases some impressive in game graphics and boasts the same game engine that is powering the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront title coming from EA.
Ghost Games explained the game is a “full reboot” containing “deep customization, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world, and an immersive narrative.”
“Need for Speed is one of the most iconic names in gaming, and we’re returning it to greatness in this reboot,” said Marcus Nilsson, executive producer at Ghost Games in the press release.
“Pulling on our 20 years of history, and then taking a year out from releasing a game, we are making the game we’ve always wanted to. We’re listening to the fans and delivering an experience that will capture their imagination and unleash their passion for cars and speed.”
EA’s Speedhunters community is also in on the action to help deliver the most authentic experience they can in the end product. More footage is expected to be shown during the EA E3 press conference this June before the title gets a full release later this year on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
